Downtown Canby is where history, local enterprise, and everyday community life meet in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley.
Discover our storyCanby began as a farming community known as Baker Prairie. The arrival of the railroad and the platting of the original 24-block town site in 1870 helped downtown emerge as a commercial and transportation hub for the farms around it.
That practical, neighborly spirit still defines the district today. Independent businesses share the streets with public spaces, historic landmarks, community services, and gathering places built for the next chapter of Canby life.
